I'm linking up with Farley for her August currently...can you believe it's already August 2nd?!  I am amazed at how much I've gotten done and how much I still need to do!  I don't go back to school until September (sorry to all of you who are already back or are going back soon but remember that we were in school until the end of June while all of you were having fun).  Here is my currently:

Listening...I love Pitch Perfect!  The songs have been stuck in my head for about 2 months now haha.

Loving...all of these projects I'm getting done!  I finished my teacher binder, sub tub & sub binder, my first read aloud, my sight word packets, first day materials are copied, and I've been making place value centers and more place value centers and measurement centers and fraction centers!  The amazing shout outs and reminders are copied too...what a time saver!

After all of that, you can see why I'm thinking I should take a break vacation!

Okay onto my must haves!  This was hard because I've been making and buying so many things to make my life easier during the school year...the first thing was my long range plans.  I have never made long range plans before (my school has curriculum maps for each subject done already) but I need something more specific to keep me on track.  Otherwise, when I go to plan each week my mind is all over the place! (especially with 3 grade levels).

Next up is an emergency desk kit.
I was at the Target dollar spot the other day and they had a bunch of little supplies perfect for my desk! In case you can't see, there are shout wipes, qtips, super glue, mini deoderant, Meyers cleaner, and lint roller(The advil wasn't in there but it was on my dining room table and it should be included in an emergency desk kit for teachers).  I'd add chocolate, some snack food, K-cups to that kit but it's a good start!  Since my table is covered in projects, I used my sub tub as the background.

Finally, fun centers!
Besides the ones listed above, I LOVE these playdough centers from Primary Possibilities

There are more centers and they all use play dough!  What kid doesn't want to play with play dough?  Click on any of the pictures to go to the blog post to read more about them!

  7. Love the idea of an emergency desk kit! I have nearly all those things shoved in various drawers of my desk... definitely add the chocolate and K-cups! I had the variety pack of mini kit-kats in my desk along with some K-cup coffee and tea. The tea came in real handy on conference night when I started to lose my voice!

Good luck on getting everything ready for back to school! I'm so glad I found your blog on Farley's link up!
